Training Course
Objective:
The teaching training course for students having an operator’s license is designed to train student teachers for the cosmetology teaching profession through practical, theoretical, and psychological application of applied basic knowledge and skills as well as prepare student teachers to pass the State Board of Examinations, and to seek gainful employment upon graduation. Career opportunities are outlined in the charts at the end of this catalog.

Evaluation Procedures:
1. Testing in theory, practical and clinic areas
2. Examinations after each unit of the course
3. Monthly practical/clinic workshop
4. Final examination.
Course Goals:
1. Students will receive an education in both theory and practical experience and gain knowledge in all phases of cosmetology.
2. To prepare students to successfully pass the State Board Examinations.
3. To prepare students to work in a professional hairstyling salon as a licensed teacher.
4. To teach professionally in an accredited school.
5. To develop employer/employee relationships and effective communication skills.
Achievement Level Requirement:
All students are required to maintain at least a 70% grade point average in theory, and at least a 2 in practical and clinic subjects in order to be eligible to receive a diploma.
